About Me
Nine Things About Me
1. I’m a list-maker.
2. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a teacher so I could “play with toys.”
3. I despise lima beans.
4. My first non-summer job as a teen was at McD’s. (Fast food workers: I feel your pain.)
5. My father was a chef but my mother taught me everythiing I know about filipino cuisine.
6. Memorable college experience: Burning my classmates’ tongues with my jalapeno-flavored cornbread.
7. I’ve been hooked on books since 7.
8. I LIKE this silly joke: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9!
9. Ahhh, nine, my favorite number!
As an author/illustrator, I love visiting schools and libraries and meeting young readers. In the photo below, I am sharing my work with students in Sacramento. (Photo by Cassandra Reigel Whetstone)
I’m currently working on a picture book and dummy (inspired by a unique place I’ve lived) along with other short works and a middle-grade novel draft. Feel free to view some of my artwork here.
Thanks for stopping by…
